Occupational Health and Safety Policy of the Gomel State Forestry and Agricultural Organization

Appendix 1
to the Regulation on the Occupational Health and Safety Management System in the Gomel State Industrial and Agricultural Enterprise

  1. The main goal of the association in the field of occupational health and safety is to ensure life safety, preserve human health and performance during the work process by creating healthy and safe working conditions for employees.
  2. The management of the association and subordinate organizations in the industry ensure the provision of the necessary resources for the implementation of the occupational health and safety policy and monitor their use.
  3. The main directions of the occupational health and safety policy in the association are:
    • priority to preserving the life and health of workers;
    • employer's responsibility for creating healthy and safe working conditions;
    • comprehensive solution of occupational health and safety issues based on state programs (subprograms);
    • social protection of workers, compensation for harm to persons who have suffered accidents at work and (or) have acquired occupational diseases;
    • establishing uniform occupational health and safety requirements for all employers;
    • use of economic methods of occupational health and safety management, financing of measures to improve working conditions and health and safety;
    • training of employees on occupational health and safety issues;
    • cooperation between employers and employees;
    • use of international experience in organizing work to improve conditions and improving occupational safety;
    • compliance with occupational safety and health legislation;
    • ensuring accident-free operation of production facilities, preventing accidents at work and occupational diseases;
    • organization of control;
    • systematic analysis of the state of occupational safety and health and making management decisions to improve the OSHMS;
    • systematic informing of employees about working conditions, occupational injuries, occupational diseases, and accidents at production facilities;
    • involving trade unions in the formation and implementation of occupational safety and health policies, in efforts to improve working conditions and safety, and the prevention of accidents, occupational diseases, accidents, and incidents.
  4. The association's occupational health and safety policy is developed and updated based on the results of an analysis by the association's management, with the participation of the regional association of the forestry and natural resource management workers' trade union, and is communicated to employees.
  5. The occupational health and safety policy is posted on the association's website.
  6. Forestries, taking into account the association's occupational health and safety policy and the specifics of production, develop their own policies.
